The Acute Care Nurse Educator drives clinical excellence by designing, delivering, and evaluating evidence-based education for nursing teams across ICU, ED, and Med-Surg units to improve patient safety and outcomes. Daily responsibilities include assessing learning needs through chart audits and competency gap analyses; planning and facilitating new-hire orientation, annual competencies, and simulation labs; rounding on units to provide real-time coaching and bedside reinforcement; updating policies, e-learning modules, and preceptor programs; coordinating BLS/ACLS/PALS and specialty certifications; managing the LMS and tracking regulatory compliance for Joint Commission readiness; collaborating with leaders on quality initiatives (sepsis bundles, falls, CLABSI/CAUTI prevention); supporting EHR training and new technology rollouts; analyzing education metrics and reporting KPIs; and fostering a culture of continuous improvement through interdisciplinary workshops, huddles, and CE opportunities. This role strengthens staff confidence, standardizes best practices, and elevates care in the acute hospital setting.
